Masthead Ideas

• I considered many different names for my magazine. For my induction homework article, I called the magazine MDR. I was trying to replicate the initials based masthead which NME use. The initials would stand for 'modern day rock'. However, I soon went off the name as I thought it seemed slightly clichéd and it also did not flow very well. I scrapped this name and tried to think of others.
• I then thought of the name 'Sunderland's rock monthly'. I soon decided that this idea was not good as this name means the magazine would focus only on one particular region, when I wanted it to be a national or global magazine.
• When designing my practice Photoshop front cover, I came up with the name 'Mayfair'. I thought this name seemed to flow very well, it hadn't been used before and seemed like a short catchy name for a music magazine. For these reasons, I decided to stick with the name 'Mayfair'.
